In this fiery trailer we get a good look at Joel now that five years have passed since The Last of Us. The former-smuggler has visibly aged, now supporting a shaggy grey beard and strong frown-lines giving him a general 'worn-out' appearance, seemingly battling with the guilt of how Ellie grew up, fighting undead monsters and living, human monsters throughout her childhood. That was not the life Joel wanted for her and now that some other tragedy has befallen the once sweet and innocent girl, he sees just how much damage that upbringing has done. The nineteen-year-old Ellie is clearly driven only by bitterness and hatred for the people who have so grievously wronged her - stopping at nothing to exact her awesome vengeance upon them, ignoring the advice of her peers and even putting others in harms way for her own crusade. We don't have long to wait until we see just how far that 'journey of violence' goes - June 19th cannot come soon enough.
