DEAD ARE COMING...

World War Z: Overview trailer

DESCRIPTION:

The legendary World War Z novel from Max Brooks that chronicles a previous Zombie war through interviews obtained from survivors and combatants has already spawned a movie of the same name - now it is time for a video game. This overview trailer shows off everything the multiplayer-focused shooter has to offer from a detailed class progression system to an artificial intelligence (AI) director calling the shots on Zombie horde sizes and available firepower. Those hordes look brilliant, don't they? Masses of Zombies churning like water, piling over one-another in a desperate attempt to get fresh meat - terrifying and comical in equal measure. However, allow me - if you will - a moment of cynicism; World War Z, the video game, sounds almost exactly the same as Valve's Left 4 Dead - it's a four-player cooperative shooter set in a Zombie-apocalypse, there are huge numbers of weak fast-paced Zombies, it is split into varied "episodes" or "campaigns", there are special infected (which seem almost too familiar in type) and an AI director that controls the action. Apart from the World War Z movie's setting and the modern-standard, class levelling system, is there actually anything new in this game?
