Memorable Zombies #1 - Bub

DESCRIPTION:

In the first of a new series showing off the most memorable Zombies, we have the infamous Bub - possibly the most well-known of all the Zombies. The reason for this notoriety is Bub's appearance in George A. Romero's 1985 classic, Day of the Dead, largely considered Romero's last great Zombie film and the one the "Godfather" himself was most proud of. Bub is the first semi-intelligent Zombie ever to grace the silver screen being able to recognise - and even partially use - everyday items from before he died. Bub developed a strong bond and friendship (two very un-Zombielike traits) with his captor and post-death 'trainer', Dr. Logan - so much so that when Bub accidentally escapes and finds Dr. Logan murdered, he gets extremely upset to the point of, after a few attempts, shooting and wounding Capt. Rhodes; Dr. Logan's killer. The concept of 'training' Zombies to get them to work for humans as mindless, controllable slaves or, at the very least, to stop eating people, has become almost commonplace in modern Zombie media - Resident Evil: Extinction, the comic series '68 and even Romero's own Survival of the Dead all share this theme.
