One of Zombies most admirable characteristics - taking a completely morbid point of view - is their relentless nature, they simply never stop. Zombies never sleep, never eat, never get out of breath, never worry about getting lost or give up when met with a seemingly insurmountable obstacle. Once a Zombie senses prey, it will go after it and not stop until it is dispatched or its prey is dead. In most cases, that prey will - if caught - become a Zombie, turning on former friends.
These two concepts - relentlessness and betrayal (whether willing or not) - are staple themes for Zombie books. Other factors also influence the world of Zombie literature such as deep emotion at the loss of family and friends, forced murders of those you would never dream of killing, conflict between two sides, morality and sometimes even romance. It is not just dark fantasy novels either. Many Zombie books are survival guides teaching you the indispensable techniques required to survive a Zombie outbreak.
As always, different people have vastly different views about published texts. I generally find Zombie books as being free from the boggy muck that plagues other sources of Zombie merchandise but feel free to disagree with me in the comments section for each item. Keep your typings mature and, as far as possible, free from harsh language. Failure to do so will see such comments quarantined, never to become publicly viewable.
