DEAD ARE COMING...

Dead Island 2 developer changed!

Today, April 1st 2023, Deep Silver again did what no one / everyone expected and changed the developer of Dead Island 2 - all previous work is to be be scrapped and the game will be completely remade. As frequent readers will have known, Dead Island 2 was being developed by Dambuster Studios and the game had gone 'Gold' meaning all development work had finished, a release date of April 21st had been set and things - for once in this game's hellish life - seemed to be on track. Dambuster Studios is the third development studio to work on the game, following Yager and Sumo Digital.

"We just couldn't release the game under the current developer, it just wouldn't be right. This game has achieved near mythical status; the one that's almost there, almost ready but never actually is - we need to maintain that status. It's what our fans expect; this game was first announced in 2014, no one expects it to actually be a real thing anymore." said a spokesperson from Deep Silver.

No information has been given about who the new developer is and, as the above statement implies, it appears whichever company does get the responsibility, they will work on the game for a few years only to find the job removed from them and given to some other development studio. When asked when, and indeed if, Dead Island 2 will finally be released, a different Deep Silver spokesperson (or it could have just been a random bystander) had this to say:

"I don't know you - please stop talking to me."

This is just another day in the hellish unlife of Dead Island 2
